No offense, and I appreciate the concept, but if things were this easy, we wouldn't really be human.

I don't completely agree with this, and not in the sense of lowering cost. I just don't believe that going to college makes someone intelligent. There are plenty of people in the world, and plenty of people I know that had great schooling, but are still incompetent at what they do, and I wouldn't trust them any farther than I could throw them. The issue isn't so much the cost of education, it is our culture. We have so much knowledge and information available to us literally at our fingertips now, but a lot of people can't even be bothered to look up a word or its spelling before using it. I guarantee you that you have come across many college graduates using the wrong "their, there, and they're," or using "your" instead of "you're" and vice versa. How many times have you come across an advertisement that has something like the word "fresh" in quotation marks? That isn't how quotations work. People are just lazy and don't care, and college won't fix that.

Don't Try To Understand 13 comments
guest · 9 years ago
I can somewhat understand the disappointment, but I mean come on. I'm not gonna say "You should be grateful because other people have it worse" because I think it is shitty and illogical to invalidate someone's feelings because someone else in the world has it worse. It doesn't help anything, and there will always be someone worse off. However, if someone buys you a gift you should appreciate it, simply because that person tried to make you happy. If it isn't the item you wanted, you have every right to be disappointed, it doesn't mean you're ungrateful as long as you appreciate the fact that like others said, people tried. However, the issue here is the way this was handled and expressed. Don't ever discourage people from doing something nice and attempting to take an interest in something you care about even if they don't completely understand it. Also, I don't think lacking appreciation of kindness is a generational thing, so please don't lump others in with you.

I think it is because the majority of people want to root for the ones they can relate better with lol. There was an episode of 30 Rock where Liz Lemon goes to her high school reunion and finds out all the popular people in addition to everyone else hated her because she was a really mean nerd.

I think it is kind of rude to assume that Jennifer or anyone is not intelligent because they didn't go to college or because they're a bubbly and goofy person. I know a lot of people who are big goofballs but can more than hold their own in a serious conversation/debate.

Try using a Mac. None of the 3 buttons actually close anything. One minimizes, one sort of resizes the window, and the other one essentially minimises but is sneaky about it. You have to either right click (in some cases tap with two fingers) on the dock icon and hit quit or use the top menu bar to quit. Not a big deal but when you're used to PCs it can take some getting used to.

I'd love to be a cool kid and press the button, but I'd have to live with knowing I essentially killed someone. Even though I don't care for Justin Burner, I don't with him dead. Just that he has to give away most of his money. There are a lot worse people in the world and even then I'd have to think about being responsible for their death.

What is basically known as unfair bullish*t indicating that in a lot of instances hard work means very little because who you know is more important. That is probably why everyone has most likely had or has a supervisor who is a bumbling moron who does nothing but still makes more money than you and gets to tell you what to do. This is life and how it works. Navigate through as best you can.

Don't get me wrong being alone is great at times, and I'm not a fan of large gatherings but drinking alone to get drunk just seems sad. Then again I'd never drink alone because I think alcohol tastes like crap.

Unfortunately life isn't fair. People who deserve credit don't always get it, people who do nothing sometimes do. It is all about being politically correct and everything is for show. The world is a giant popularity contest and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Why is there a debate here? No matter what the person looks like or who he is, he was treated very unkindly by someone who was never shown love. Stop turning stuff into problems about race and religion...who is a "target" and who is not. This is about humans having enough decency to at least keep their awful mouths shut, and being respectful to others no matter what, because it is inexcusable not to do so.
