Edison didn't steal anything from Tesla. At least half of the stuff you idiots claim Tesla invented he had nothing to do with. Idiots around me "rescue" a dog so they can tell everyone "it's a rescue" in some ridiculous attempt to make themselves look like good people, not the self absorbed assholes they are. The dog is then left in the yard as a decoration, forgotten about until I get tired of hearing it bark, howl, whine all day, all night, or get tired of being attacked every time I set foot outside my house and sue the owners. The dog is then returned to the animal shelter to wait for the next asshole wanting a new topic for their Facebook posts to pick it up. I wish there was an end to the story, but, unfortunately, this story just continues on like this for the foreseeable future.

When I was in the US, a kinda hillbilly looking old man asked me how tall I was (because I'm kinda tall I guess, for a woman at least). So I told him I'm 178cm tall and that I don't know how how much that is in feet and inches because I'm from Europe. So he proceeded to pull out a piece of paper and pen and write down the calculations because he knew what the conversion rate was. I was a bit baffled but he seemed friendly so I just looked as he calculated how tall I am in Murican units. Turns out it's between 5'10" and 5'11".

I once took a dog that a neighbor had found tied to a street sign. He had mange, but he was the sweetest dog ever. We couldn't keep him, but we gave him to my aunt, and she takes care of him now. She took care of the mange, and I still get to see him whenever I visit.

Interesting instance in the book "Getting To Yes" which is about negotiating. Jimmy Carter famously said he's never use nukes against the Soviets, so they were able to push him around in negotiations because he'd reduced his options without getting anything in return. Even the threat of nuclear retaliation back after the USSR had first used nukes would've gone back on what he said. Better to leave all your options open and then negotiate them away _while getting something in return_.
Hell, maybe it's even better for the US for its adversaries to worry that its president may be willing to do things other presidents wouldn't.
