That's because no one wants a brown(liver)-spotted Dalmatian. Hear me out: Dalmatians are one of the most inbred dogs in the world, resulting in horrific genetic problems. A reputable breeder will keep a very exact database of lineage to help keep the breed genetically stable. Then you get people who just let their pet Dalmatians breed and get excited about different dogs being produced, without realizing that brown-spots are a recessive trait and if one recessive trait get through, so may debilitating others. It's sad that many variants can make a dog more valuable, but not brown spots on a Dalmatian, because of the inevitable health problems.
