Same thing happened to me during rehearsal for a play. It was the first rehearsal and I've finished all my scene and I got a call. I asked to leave and the director threatened me that if I leave, they'll hire someone else for the part. I said go ahead and I left. Later, they called me to ask me to the part again. I told them no. Not doing it with heartless people... Especially since the profit of the play was going to a charity..
