Yeh, little daughters paint yer nails for you, put flowerty clips in your hair, cook you mud, keep you up till all hours telling you never-ending stories about their stuffed sheep's multiple personalities; it's interminable torture, and you love every minute of it

No kidding, other guest. I assume no one treated you like you made their lives worse, or you'd have compassion for kids.

What did humans do to deserve dogs? 9 comments
guest · 9 years ago
And we have got to remember that before about 1998, virtually no one had computers in the home, and so many concepts we have today such as what it means to be suburban, and all the drama that comes with it, just didn't exist. Instead of having our faces glued to the computer 18 hours a day, hand hovering over caps lock, throughout all human history we went outside and worked or played games sun-up to sundown. After it got dark, we played in the dark. The dog came along for most of that. 'What did humans deserve to get dogs' is a thought only applicable in today's sterile, plastic, digital society where very few of us earn our living directly from the earth anymore. Point being, the particular type of disgust that people feel for each other today in industrialized nations, to the point that dogs seem more moral than people, evolved in chat rooms and on forums, where we cannot see each others' body language. Before then, humans and dogs were on very equal footing.

Nah that's a common snapper. Not endangered in the least. An alligator snapper (macrochelys temminckii) is endangered though. But the picture is of chelydra serpentina. I have to tell you, both species are phenomenally resilient creatures. One common snapper we caught last year out swimming in the frigging ocean, and the year before, we caught one crossing the road in January when it was ten below in a blizzard. It was a real thrill in the middle of the cold to pick up mister grumpy guts trying to claw his way through a snow bank. The suckers don't hibernate. They change bodies of water even in the winter. This turtle is my hero. Honey badger of the reptile world.

maybe if you changed your diet from your mother to someone you're not related to, it would make you feel better.

There are way worse folks out there than Bill Gates. If I had to pick between any president of the United States since 1988 and Bill Gates for who I'd rather take a bullet for, I'll take one for Gates.

If you're attractive, people have a more unrealistic view of your personality than if you're plain. Plus, that view is inescapable, whether it infers that you have more value than other people, or that you have no concern for others; attractive people either enjoy a premium of certain benefits or they suffer broad-scale abuse unique to their station. Either way, they always get noticed. That can suck pretty bad, because it warps your sense who you really are. Luckily, I'm ugly as a skinned hot dog.

yep. Haven't talked to my lifelong best friend in five years. Never will again. Trust broken once is hard to heal; twice broken is a ticket to the empty quarter of the Arabian peninsula.

So like in 1500 years, will some landfill destined nugget of joy like this that we produce today become valuable enough to be sold in some exclusive antique dealer, when all we said today was "yeah it's mildly toxic auto paint. throw it out."?

see, phoenix, Iowa is way north of Kansas, so winter trudges on in Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin etc a couple months after Kansas has turned green and hot. Seven months of brown sucks a walrus nuggets

That is an ahaaaawful lot of Monsanto Roundup and Monsanto GMO corn. No wonder we're all so frigging fat in this country, eating nothing but demon-engineered pseudograins covered in the demon dust that kills everything on the face of the earth but the demon grains. I'm moving to the the bottom of the sea, gonna live in a rusty school bus, eat sand, and breathe fantastic compressed helium atmosphere until the starfish answer back

I grew up in the woods without electricity, until i was eleven. But society wants you to make money, because somehow gold and stereos are worth infinitely more than wholesome food, a quiet existence, and an intimate family unit. so here the frick I am on a computer halfway to dawn, wishing I'd been born 500 years ago, lack of medical technology and all. Better off living to 50 in freedomin the dignity of farm work, than living to 95 hooked up to a ventilator having worked in an office building since the age of twenty

What's that, officer? Well, even though my reasoning barely had to time to question my instincts, I ploughed into the semi in front of me because my reflexes told me to hit the gas when two veeeery confusing see-through trailers simultaneously pushed me off the highway going 90 mph....

Sexist bastard women! If I had to shower with gays in bootcamp and not complain, I mean not a syllable, then we all should be showering together forevermore. No one's special anymore.
