People with depression- what SHOULD people say to you when you are depressed? Obviously not to "get over it" or "try to not think about it" but what should they say? Because sometimes my friend gets depressed and I want to help cheer them up but I don't want them to be mad that I say something "dumb" because I don't quite understand depression. I've been extremely sad before, but never actually depressed, and I know there is a big difference between the two. Thanks!

I know names have nothing to do with douchebaginess, but I know a Mika, Dylan, Alec, and Alex who are all total bullying jerks.

It might be just a word's difference between being texted "goodnight" vs "night," but it makes a world of difference. Especially if you care about the person, because they might think it means you DON'T care enough to use the more endearing term. Same with the others, it affects how sincere you sound. If you care, take it the extra effort. Write the extra word. It will go a long way.

American here! No. Most people who like Obama, when asked, cannot offer a good explanation as to why. We've had worse leaders, but I don't see what's so great about Obama. One time I told my friend I didn't particularly like Obama all that much, and he said something along the lines of "dude, you have to like him, he's the first black president." Ummm, no. I respect him for that, but since I'm NOT racist, that doesn't affect my opinion either way.

I don't like this guy because he honestly gets on my nerves sometimes because he is so conceited, and he is also really rich so he brags about stuff he has, as if that would impress me or something. We could still be friends, but we are just to different to be anything more without me going insane. It has nothing to do with how he looks, flimflam. He is actually way more popular than me, and pretty hot, too. All my friends are also scolding me for letting him go, as if it's my fault I can't like this guy. :(

I get this post is a joke, and I think it's funny, but I'm just really annoyed with the term "friendzone." Yesterday, a guy texted me telling me that he really liked me since he first saw me, and I had to let him down as nicely but as firmly as possible, and told him we were just friends. He then went around acting like a victim, and one of his friends texted me, calling me a "friend zoning bitch" just because I didn't return this guy's feelings.

In America, you would usually say "point" for a decimal, you are correct. But "one hundred AND one" could be interchanged with "one hundred one." Where I live, most people omit the "and" but both ways are correct.

An author visited my school a couple years ago, and said he took an online test on symbolism in one of his books and failed it, because none of the "symbolism" was intentional when he wrote the book.

Small wouldn't be too bad, but if they were too large for the shirt, I'd feel bad for the kid. But you could always just get an identical shirt printed, but in a different size, so it fits well for the last photo.

Good guy Muslims... 8 comments

I know this will be down voted, but I think this is a little wrong itself. Obviously there are a lot of "good guy Muslims." Most are good. You might as well point out that any group of people did something nice. The fact that they are Muslim shouldn't be relevant. I guess this is aimed at those who think all Muslims are terrorists, in which case the post kinda proves that isn't the case, which is a good thing.
.
I don't really know how to articulate what I feel about this, I guess I mean that it shouldn't be such a big deal that Muslims did something good. They are normal people too. But if a group of Christians did that, no big deal. It's almost like positive discrimination, but still discrimination.
.
And I'm not sure where that line about the mosque was going... maybe they didn't necessarily help because of the mosque, but because they are good and helpful people.

You are basically doing the same thing as the girl in the post. Worse actually... are you saying tall guys can't have a lot of personality?

I had friends who were identical twin brothers, and when they were little they pranked their parents by having one of them on the bed, and one underneath, and they both pretended to be scared of the other version of themselves, (like the 3rd thing down in the post). Apparently their mom fell for it (she thought one twin was still in their bed) and was scared shitless and grounded them both for a month.

*other guest* I don't think so... there could be infinitely many different humans/ creatures. They are some identical people (identical twins), but I don't think science has given us the basis to presume that infinite universe= exact copy of you somewhere.

Doesn't mean getting kicked in the testicles hurts more. Childbirth is rewarding, but getting kicked in the balls isn't. That's why. Not because childbirth doesn't hurt.
