As much as obesity is unhealthy, this is probably the best response to rudeness.

But why does the emotional state change so much? If rape victims weren't as stigmatized would they have the same effect?

Why do we label romantic and sexual orientations as a sexual preference? They're entirely unrelated.

So basically the only reason why sexual battery is worse than physical battery is societal norms and nothing to do based in science.

I'm not arguing

Why is it different in the people's eyes? There is no reason for it to be.

I'm 80% sure that the law treats rape and assault differently. Let's use WA laws and a person with no criminal record. Second and third degree rape seem most equal to second degree assault in terms of the severity of crime. 2nd deg assault is 3-12 months prison. 2nd and 3rd degree rape carries 5 yr to life imprisonment and/or $10k-50k fines. We can clearly see that rape carries a much heavier sentence, at least five times worse.

I'm not sure I'm making it a competition, I'm not trying to. I'm also not sure of the point you're trying to make anymore because it seems we've deviated from the original point. I'm saying rape isn't inherently worse than assault and you're neither agreeing or disagreeing with me. Yes?

You know why they hate themselves? Because society. Rape isn't inherently worse than "normal" assault, it's that we made it so for some reason. Maybe because "ooh sex is bad"? Maybe because weakness is frowned upon (but for some reason weakness when being beat is "acceptable")? I don't know. But I firmly believe that rape is no worse than "normal" assault by an objective measure. Unless you "normal" assault along with the rape but that's two different things that happen at once.

And assault doesn't have emotional repercussions? I'm not trying to denigrate the effects of rape, but I really don't see how, besides the societal implications, rape is any worse than a bad assault.
