Just off the top of my head, I'd have to say that these two sleepy heads are having a real meeting of the minds. I guess two heads are better than one-a double header, so to speak. I hope no one was hurt during their head on collision. :)

Definitely, though the original, which had a giant carrot looking alien, is entertaining in a Mystery Science Theatre kind of way.
How much spinach I start cooking with vs how much I end up with 1 comments

Right up there with stewed white mushrooms that also lose about 50-60% after cooking. Stewed leeks at 40% and stewed tomatoes and celery at 37% are the next worst. I guess if you stewed spinach, you'd end up with a black hole.

Cats, in general, are good looking animals, but this one is in a class by himself. Not sure if it's him or the bowtie, but he's striking.

That's why I specified modern kids, in industrialized nations, as not being forced into child labour. As you mentioned, we got rid of it locally, but it's still an issue elsewhere.

I wonder how our newfound adherence to those common sense, but often ignored rules, will impact this year's amount of seasonal flu cases?

Though certainly Cronenbergian, re the body horror, this was directed by John Carpenter. An interesting bit of trivia is that the skeleton crew at the South pole telescope station, watch this film and the two other versions, right after the final flight for the season departs.

This looks freaking amazing. Reverse image search reveals that it's about $150 and handmade to order. It's found on Etsy. Search for "evilinceu" for more details.

During the Industrial Revolution, child labor was ubiquitous. They earned 10-20% of what an adult did and when punishment was meted out, such as being horse whipped for tardiness, they took it with less protest than adults. Furthermore, their small size was often an advantage. For instance, textile mills, as pictured here, had machinery that spun thread at high speeds.  Sometimes these machines jammed or became clogged.  The small fingers and hands of the children were ideal for unclogging these machines, which made children important in the production process.  Therefore, factory owners employed children because it helped in the production of goods. But to be fair, modern kids, in industrialized nations, often have to go without 5 bars of Internet signal and sometimes develop painful blisters on their thumbs.

However, several aspects of the video are questionable. At the end of the original video, there is a large recording app logo, which may suggest that the event was a marketing stunt for that app.The audience reacts so quickly to what is displayed on the video, it seems unbelievable. So are the bride and groom's reactions, as the bride doesn't even really look at the screen before throwing her bouquet at her new husband. No one even stopped to figure out wtf that photo was, just instant outrage.
So though it may be an interesting story to pass a few minutes of time, there's a good chance that the story isn't entirely real.

The video allegedly was filmed in Fujian, China and supposedly the couple had been together for approximately two years before tying the knot, but they also struggled with domestic abuse problems. The bride's brother-in-law, her sister's husband, stepped in to mediate the couple while they sorted things out and they developed feelings for each other. The groom only discovered his soon-to-be wife was sleeping with another man when he caught them on a security camera in their newly-constructed home.

Sounds like a potential way to trigger an OCD-like mindset. Then again, excessive handwashing might be a welcome characteristic nowadays.

How to keep the cat downstairs 2 comments

As a PSA for those not lucky enough to have toy sharks or a herd of trained tiny dinosaurs to do their bidding, you can buy rolls of cat spikes on Amazon. 1 foot wide roll of plastic mesh with 1/2" spikes sticking up from it. You cut it to fit on any spot you want to keep cat footprint free. It's like Legos for cats.
