I spend half my time correcting the spoken English of native English speakers. I have nothing but admiration for those trying to learn our mongrel language, and I will always take the time to help you with your broken English.

Copious amounts of alcohol 27 comments

I don't drink alcohol, don't take drugs prescription or other, don't go to a therapist. I have horses, I can't afford that other stuff. Before you accuse me of a comfortable life, I give you first child born 12 weeks (3 months) early, breast cancer, divorced parents and abusive older sister. Life is what you make it, and sometimes finding the positive takes actual personal effort.

I read the responses to the original post. Haven't laughed so much in ages. People can be humourously savage.

Blame the moon for my shitty behavior 16 comments

In the past, a woman's menstrual cycle was called "moon times" because a woman's body can be affected by the pull of the moon. Doesn't mean she has mental health issues, is just a normal woman.

“Knowledge equals power...
Power equals energy...
People ... thought the Library was a dangerous place because of all the magical books, which was true enough, but what made it really one of the most dangerous places there could ever be was the simple fact that it was a library.
Energy equals matter...
Matter equals mass.
And mass distorts space. It distorts it into polyfractal L-space." the late, great Terry Pratchett knew the power of books.
