Did you not see my comment above? Besides, gay people /do not/ have the same rights as straight people- that's exactly what they're currently fighting for right now. As of this current moment, there are only 36 states in the US that allow gay marriage. That still leaves 14 states where gay marriage is not permitted. So please tell me how you could possibly conclude that "gay people already have the same rights as straight people". As for some people thinking it's just and fair, it's not. Period, end of story. I'd also like to point out that there were also tons of people who thought slavery was just and fair, and, as we've learned, those people were morons. There were also tons of people who thought the illegality of interracial marriage was just and fair, and, as we've learned, those people were morons. The same applies in this situation. Like I said before, you don't have to like gay people, but that doesn't mean you can take away their basic human rights.

I see the point you're /trying/ make, but there are some flaws with that logic. Rights are rights, and everyone deserves them. I think a better arguement would be: if you're okay with gay people then that's great, if you don't like gay people then good for you. There's a difference between not liking gay people and refusing to give them their basic rights as human beings. If a group of individuals isn't being given their rights, /everyone/ should care, because it's unjust and unfair. Like I said, you don't have to like gay people, but I'll be damned if you're going to treat them as inferior under the law.

There are plenty of heterosexual women who are barren and plenty of heterosexual men who are sterile. So, if we were to go off the argument you just made, it would make perfect sense to treat those barren women and sterile men as inferiors and revoke their right to be married, considering they can't biologically produce children. Do you see how stupid that sounds? A human being is a human being- regardless of their fertility. We shouldn't place a human being's value and worth on whether or not they can have children.

Well, it says that the $500 was withdrawn from his checking account, so maybe the $1.3million is in his savings account...
